Our church visioning session became a deep spiritual experience. The Holy Spirit cleansed about 65 of us who became the conduit for our God to reveal His Heart about the Mission (His purpose for our existence) and Vision (the church He’ll like us to be in 3 to 5 years) for our church. After we consolidate these statements, the Lord will help us decide our priorities in achieving the Vision.
We learned the power words REACH, HOPE, and WHOLENESS that we may use in our Mission statement.
REACH: We use Christ’s method of discipling to reach our community in response to the charge “Go therefore…” in Matt 28:19-20 and as written in Ministry of Healing pg 143 “The Saviour mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, ‘Follow Me.'” This is why we programed Emmaus Sundays and Canada Day Pancake Breakfast and are planning to invite our community to watch a free movie in our church on August 26.
HOPE: We spread a distinctive Christ-centered message as illustrated by the sanctuary truths and expressed in the Three Angel’s Messages of Rev 14:6-12. A message that points prophetically to His second coming as the ultimate hope of restoration back to perfection.
WHOLENESS: Our message also brings “more abundant life” to the present life such as our Adventist message of health for the whole body, mind, and spirit. Sabbath rest nourishes the soul and an education system that develops the whole person extending from life on this earth to eternity.
These power words will enable a short Mission statement that all church members including children will memorize easily.
We thank those who participated, you received blessings, and more blessings awaits as we journey through our REACH Initiatives.
